WELCOME
to the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni community, we are proud Aligs dedicated to spread the message of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, one of the greatest social reformers and a great nation builder.
Vision
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan evoke strong affection and emotions among AMU alumni, and we are sure you are no different than us or thousands across the globe.
AMU is certainly distinctive and unique, as it has a history of raising galaxies of stars that shine brightly and beautifully on the horizon of the world. Thanks to our founder, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan (Baba-e-Qaum), who fought uncountable adverse forces to come out as one of the finest reformers and educationists of his time and provided us with a wonderful gift to shape up the lives of the generations.
We all know that AMU has always acted as the centre of the intellectual revolution of the subcontinent, and now its Alumni continue to uphold the lofty ideals that are necessary for building the community in line with the enlightened vision that Sir Syed would have had for it.
We also know that the greatness of a person, especially Aligs, is determined by his contribution to society. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s contributions to the community and to the nation are well known. We, the Aligs, are the ambassadors of Sir Syed’s vision and mission. Amidst the current plight of the subcontinent, keeping alive the spirit of the Aligarh Movement and Sir Syed’s mission becomes more crucial than ever. The responsibility now rests with Aligs around the globe to emulate Sir Syed.
Let us all revisit Sir Syed’s approach and methods and take a pledge to carry on the Aligarh Movement in a constructive way. A couple of like-minded Aligs in the UAE have joined Sir Syed's mission and begun seriously considering the issue. We want you to kindly come forward and take the lead to guide us with all your experience, constructive thoughts, and ideas to take the mission forward.
